The problem is now she doesn’t fit in at all, and stands out horribly.

Disney could have easily kept the 2D design by tweaking it some like they did with Mulan, but instead we’re stuck with this.

Exactly. Merida doesn’t look as bad in this picture. People are acting as if her cleavage is showing and she has a huge slit up her dress. No, It’s the same Merida, just now 2D and bedazzled! 

HONESTLY! Yes the 3D among the 2D looks horrible. But with the “redesign” it was the principle that they made her looks terrible. Making her waist thinner, smoothing out the hair, the facial proportions were off and the dress choice. Putting her in the dress she ripped and tore because ” it was a metaphor of her mothers idea of the woman she is meant to be”.

Yes, the entire redesigns were horrible and I still can’t get over them.

But its the principle of the thing more than the 2D/3D thing. I would prefer for her to be 2D like Rapunzel - just better looking.

Honestly, even with Rapunzel, she looks terrible - I’ve seen WAY better 2D renditions of Rapunzel that should be used. SAME with Merida. 

SO yeah, that’s my 2 cents.
